Cotton candy — that fluffy, colorful treat we all love — has a surprisingly sweet history! Did you know cotton candy was invented way back in 1897 by a dentist named William Morrison and a confectioner named John C. Wharton? They created the very first cotton candy machine in the USA, and it was first introduced to the world at the 1904 World’s Fair, where it was called “Fairy Floss”.
From there, the magic spread across the globe — reaching India through carnivals, fairs, and street vendors who spun pink clouds by hand. For years, cotton candy was all about the human touch, manually spun using simple machines.
Over time, cotton candy became more than just a fairground treat. People began experimenting and created cotton candy cakes, pastries, drinks, and even desserts — making it a fun part of modern celebrations!
Today, thanks to technology and creativity, the art of cotton candy has been completely transformed.
At Celebration Cotton Candy, we’re proud to lead the way in India with the first automatic cotton candy concept, launched in 2021 at Pacific Mall, NSP, Delhi. No hand-spinning here — just pure magic created right before your eyes with the push of a button!
